On January 29, 2024, Governor Tony Evers signed Executive
The task force was charged with:
- Studying the workforce challenges facing the state’s health care system, including recruitment and retention
- Identifying ways to improve patient care and alleviate the burdens on the health care workforce
- Exploring educational and training pathways to grow a sustainable health care workforce
- Creating an action plan with solutions related to workforce development, industry innovation, education, and training for consideration in the governor’s 2025-27 state budget
The task force delivered a full report on August 19, 2024:
- Providing 10 recommendations with 26 action items
- Representing a variety of policies and programs to address issues including education, training, recruitment, and retention of health care workers
- Providing solutions to Wisconsin’s health care industry challenges and recommendations to consider in the upcoming 2025-2027 state budget
