The Wisconsin Nursing Supply & Demand Forecast Model was originally developed by the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development Office of Economic Advisors using the HRSA forecasting model as a guide in 2007. However, the supply and demand forecasts were limited by inadequate data. Successful legislation in 2009 mandated RN license renewal surveys in Wisconsin, which resulted in robust data sets beginning in 2010. Since then, the Wisconsin Model was expanded and improved to allow for enhanced supply and demand projections of nurses in Wisconsin.
