Ontario Refugee Presentation
Robin Wolzenburg, Vice President of Clinical and Regulatory Affairs at LeadingAge Wisconsin, had the opportunity to speak at the Ontario Long-Term Care Association Conference in Toronto this fall. She discussed the innovative partnership between LeadingAge Wisconsin and state refugee resettlement agencies, which aims to expand the healthcare workforce by leveraging the skills and talents of refugees to care for seniors and individuals with disabilities in Wisconsin. The success of this initiative has garnered national and international attention, with the goal of integrating foreign-born workers into essential healthcare roles. Robin is committed to expanding this program by providing refugees with access to additional educational opportunities to enhance their skills and exploring creative technology solutions to overcome language barriers that often hinder newcomers from entering the healthcare workforce.
